I'm not sure about the TRINQ history, but I do know that when you get a situation like this AM where the TRINQ was very low but the tick was negative most of the time, something fishy is going on.

I recall Zeev mentioning this around June 2001, but at that time we had a very high TRINQ with a highly positive tick. That suggested the market was being held up for distribution.

My point this morning was that it was being made to appear that the market was looking up and healthy when actually there was a lot of underlying weakness that was not reflected in the low TRINQ reading. The NYSE TRIN was also quite high this AM with a spiking tick, which suggested some games were being played.
