You will sing a different tune when you can't find a doctor to treat you and you will sing a different tune when medical care in general simply does not match need. No matter the money. I have seen all this happen in Canada.

If I may offer a counter argument. Much of the medical miracles that have been performed in the last couple of decades are because of technology and would not have been possible much earlier. It would be nice to know that everyone is better off than the wealthiest person in say 1970. I am sure this is not always true.

I would not be as concerned for the person who needs the absolute state of the art best. Rather the state should do what it can and cost is a consideration. Fifty years from now there will likely be technology that could extend the life of people who will die from conditions untreatable today.

Finally, "you will sing a different tune when medical care in general simply does not match need. No matter the money." There will always be things that can't be done. A willingness to spend unlimited resources cannot save some.
