fuagf -- well that's one way to fully soak prolonged-drought-dried deep soils and, especially, force some big recharge into the old aquifers (e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Artesian_Basin )

as for us here, especially away from citified areas and other locations with one sort or other of fancy waterworks (and in those places too, of course), so too for you there -- there is no such thing as too much rain -- every drop the land takes in precious; never more taken than in seasons/episodes like this

what I always say, of course -- sorry -- hope/trust the phenomenal record of keeping virtually all out of harm's way continues

here's hoping they're right about the ongoing La Nina finally winding down -- for our sake every bit as much as for yours -- could really use a bit of El Nino, bring some of that action back this way

another note -- if we do get an El Nino going later this year that becomes a significant event that lasts through most of calendar 2013, 2013 could well eclipse 2010 as the warmest year on record worldwide yet
