Peg -- a little back-story Rachel covers early in that segment -- in 2001, under pricing pressure from its buyers, in particular Toys-R-Us (later acquired by among others Bain), Ohio Art moved its production of the Etch-A-Sketch to China -- from the Ohio location where the workers made about $9/hour, to a China plant where the workers made 24 cents/hour, had to work 84-hour weeks, and went on strike for more protein in their food allotment -- from her links for the segment:
