You completely miss the point.

I am not trying to whitewash Japanese crimes and that article I posted sure did not.

Just trying to show what the US is capable of when aroused to a frenzy whether justified or not.

Current calls by some to nuke Meca if we suffer another 9/11 type attack really are no different than Elliot Roosevelt suggesting that the US wipe out half of Japan's population via bombing raids.
