Two killed as Maoists blow up police station in India
(Updated at 1100 PST) BIHARSHARIF: Maoist guerrillas attacked a police station Bihar's Nalanda district in the wee hours today killing two persons, including a policeman, and wounding three others.
The naxalites also looted seven rifles, two carbines and 250 rounds of ammunition from the Chabilapur police station of the district, Police Superintendent told media.
Hundreds of heavily armed maoist rebels surrounded the police station from all sides just past midnight, hurled bombs and opened fire, he said.
They set on fire the police station and shot dead havildar Ramsharan Paswan and village chowkidar Rambriksha Paswan. Three others, including constable Rajkishore Chaudhary, servant of the officer in-charge, Shravan Thakur, and a man in custody, Kishori Ravidas, sustained gunshot injuries in the attack.
