chloebware,
I respect the Office of the President, however, the list of current achievements is highly suspect. On the forefront, The Supreme Court has carved out a week in late March to hold oral arguments in perhaps its biggest case in a decade; The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) The court announced it will hear SIX hours of oral arguments over three days during March 26-28. The outcome could very well define the tone and tenor leading to the November 2012 election.
I grew up in the city of Chicago, attended undergraduate (Northwestern University – Evanston, IL.) and business school (University of Chicago – Hyde Park) and voted democrat for 3 years. I currently reside in the New York City metro area and have family and friends in Chicago are not at all pleased with the present and uncertain economic future of our country.
That said, how much is anyone really and truly aware of Obama’s hand picked advisors from the Chicago “machine”? Anyone? Valerie Jarrett, Bill Daley (brother of former Chicago mayor Richard Daley), Penny Pritzker, Rham Emanuel (former Chief of Staff & current Mayor of Chicago)
Food for thought, the current spike in gasoline and oil is NOT a product of supply and demand constraint, but a product of 1) continuous devaluation in the U.S. dollar (oil is traded globally in U.S.D.) and increase in M1 money supply (printing dollars), 2) margin requirements of traders, 3) requirement oil and gasoline traders MUST assume physical storage and custody of the commodity.
I only hope the electorate recognizes the tenuous path of our country before awarding a second term.
