IRA had nothing to compare to the London Bombimg, IRA often called in warnings so areas could be cleared.
The London bombing was the worst death total by bomb since during world war II.
Plus via rampant arrest and detainment Irish catholics had their civil liberties trampled over during the "troubles".
Easily comparable to what it is now occuring against muslims, but i believe to be worse.
The IRA itself has split in two, the IRA of old and that which called itself the REAL IRA, which has an estimated membership of 30 and is still out there---they were responsible for worst bombing i can think of, that of Ormagh, in Northern Ireland.
My knowledge of IRA is extensive only by listening to my wife whose family origins are IRA all the way back to its beginnings.
She finally turned feircely against "never surrender" stance after the travesty and cowardly bombing at Ormagh.
The Real Ira reminds me of the ETA, the basque separatist terrorist all maybe 50 of them.
But it would be a mistake to think Brits were anything but absolutely BRUTAL in their pursuance of the IRA over time.
Their new policies now regards muslims is but a revival of the the hatred and complete disregard for due process that went on with Brits in their dealings with the Irish.
