Who Won How Many Delegates in Virginia?
Virginia was assigned 46 regular bound delegates.
Given that the Virginia primary occurred before April 1st, each candidate will receive delegates proportional to the percentage of the votes they receive, i.e., the calculation should be as follows: Delegates = 46 * Percent of Votes Received
However, the GOP allows each state to define "proportional" as it sees fit, so the following results show the percent of votes each candidate received, as reported by the NY Times, followed by the number of regular delegates actually awarded, again as reported by the NY Times...Tues 6 March 2012 @ 11:15pm.

Romney - 59.5%...43 delegates
Paul - 40.5%...3 delegates
Gingrich - 0%...0 delegates
Santorum - 0%...0 delegates
"Others" - 0%...0 delegates

Short answer - VA's Repub Gov McDonnell wants to be Romney's VP, so it came as no surprise Romney was awarded 43 delegates and Ron Paul who got 40.% of the vote, was awarded only 3 delegates.
