I think they could have gone for March 8, but it looks like they are going to use that additional week to put together an actual shareholders list (based on the release forms) so that when the company emerges, its shareholder list (providing names and holdings) will be in place.
Also, I just read the article and the author certainly did not understand that WMI will not just be a "shell" when it emerges from bankruptcy.
