Ah, yes. It's the geosynchronous ones that are at 23,200 miles because they can stay in synch with the earth's orbit at that range, gravity stopping them from escaping and centrifugal force stopping them from sinking.

That's why DirecPC is so totally useless for a lot of things. 92,800 miles of space travel round trip just for the request and receipt of data to happen. At the speed of light, that's right at half a second overhead before the delays introduced by wires, routers, and computers doing their thing.
