As this is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for in response to my post that i am replying to above. . .
Basically an introduction to what the product is for potential investors who have little knowledge of this sector or what a vaporizer is for that matter. . .
Medical Marijuana Electric Cigarette
Medical Cannabis Management (MCM), owned by PR company Rapid Fire Marketing, has announced it will be distributing a new type of electronic cigarette called the CannaCig. This new device is designed specifically to administer psychoactive Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active ingredient in marijuana, to patients enrolled in the medicinal cannabis program. THC is used medicinally as it has many positive effects including treatment of chemotherapy related nausea and appetite loss.
THC is also used in the treatment of some types of irretractable pain and has recently shown promise as a treatment for Alzheimer's disease and Myasthenia Gravis. Until now, the only way a patient could receive THC was by taking the orally administered tablet Marinol (Dronabinol) or by ingesting (eating, smoking, steeping) the leaves of the marijuana plant.
Medical Cannabis Management will be distributing the Cannabis E-Cigarette to medical cannabis dispensaries and to physicians in California by the end of March. MCM has the long-term goal of making their product available to anyone who needs it across the US. There are many benefits to using this device compared to marijuana tablets or raw cannabis. The CannaCig vaporizes a small amount of THC contained in an oil solution. The vapor is then inhaled by the user resulting in immediate effects as compared to Marinol which takes up to an hour reach full systemic effects. Marinol also has an expensive price tag while the new device is expected to sell for much less.
The use of a THC containing oil eliminates the need for both the user and the dispensaries to keep actual marijuana on hand. The oil has the exact effect as Marinol and raw cannabis with less propensity for diversion of the drug and other crimes related to illicit drug use. We can also expect to see a standardization of THC dosing through quality control measures not available with raw cannabis production. As the CannaCig only vaporizes the oil, nothing is burned and no smoke is produced. Current devices used for vaporization of marijuana leaves (vaporizers) are expensive and unreliable as a THC delivery device. This new product will likely revolutionize the medicinal marijuana market.
it looks like MCM updated their site a bit as well...although i haven't looked at it in a week or so
