I want to clear a few things up about Spyder as there still seems to be a lot of confusion about what it is, what it isn't, and whether or not it matters to us right now.

No offense to him/her, but Wakinyan_Pale_Raptor doesn't really know what he's talking about. The link he found appears to have been generated from Atrinsic's Affiliate Marketing system. We've known for quite some time that they've had such a system operational and that they have many (big) clients/affiliates. Spyder isn't an "improved" version of their affiliate marketing platform. It's an analytical tool that allows their clients to view data and relationships "between websites and their linking relationships." It has nothing to do with serving up affiliate websites as A) they clearly already have a system in place to do that, and B) the information they've made available about Spyder doesn't in any way imply it will have such functionality.

I'm not exactly sure what www.atrinsicspyder.com is going to be used for, but the countdown is nothing more than a WordPress plugin. The site was discovered by board members in much the same way that developers "discovered" possible new products and features from Apple by looking at Apple's iOS SDK. And just as Apple hasn't announced the iPad 3 or the iPhone 5/6/Magic (or whatever it'll be called), neither has Atrinsic announced the Spyder. So if it hasn't been announced, it's release date can be nothing more than conjecture (no matter how seemingly accurate said conjecture may be). There has been no public announcement about their product launch, therefore there hasn't been a delay as far as the public is concerned.

Atrinsic has a login page for Spyder at http://spyder.atrinsic.com. Based off of this, it's my belief that their backend is functional to some degree, if not completely. There's no point in publishing a seemingly-working login page if it doesn't allow anyone to log in. I'd bet that, at the very least, their system admins and/or developers can log in to their system through that page. This tells me (and I'd bet a large number of software and web developers would agree) that they are at least at point where they are testing some functionality, fixing bugs, and further developing features for their v1.0 release. It should be noted it's entirely possible that the Spyder is largely, or completely, functional and is possibly being used by their subscribing clients now though that's pure speculation. However, the current status of Spyder's development has little meaning for us since it is neither a consumer product nor a new, revolutionary product that is expected to carry their business. It seems to expand on the tools they currently offer. That's certainly a good thing for them (and shareholders), but it would probably be more appropriate to view this as a serious step towards staying competitive. They're clearly doing what they can to become a successful company once again and this shows they're serious about that.

One last note about the so-called delay. Google, Microsoft, RIM (lol!), HP, and hosts of other companies almost always announce new product launches in advance (sometimes months, sometimes a year or more). They also have to delay those launches, more often than not (sometimes, several times). Thankfully, Atrinsic hasn't publicly announced a new product, then publicly announced multiple delays. If they had, we'd likely be seeing a pps in the single cents as it would send the message to a lot of shareholders that Atrinsic isn't very good at fixing their problems. But the pps has been holding steady in the low to mid .20's so let's all have a coke and a smile.

So, there's my analysis. Feel free to consume or ignore it as you see fit.
