Keith, I checked the Nasdaq site and found AMD's "real time" institutional ownership to be 80.1%. This is information from the latest institution filings.

Institutions have 45 days after the close of a quarter to file a form 13F with the SEC which shows their ownership at the quarters end.

I noticed that of 15 AMD's top 20 holders had not filed their Q2 13F. If their was no change in their holding then they need file. Most institutions will need to file and are waiting until the deadline (about a week from now). After these filings are in we'll see a snapshot of AMD institutional ownership.
