Item 1. The issue is sorting for the purpose of processing into fuel, not recycling.
I said:
"I guess one is left to conclude that, since the materials are supposed to be separated at their source and hence don't require sorting by JBI itself, they can be described by JBI as "unsorted"."
Your answer crushed nothing.

Item 2.
Turns out that the amendment to the solid waste permit has nothing to do with the NYSDEC's concerns about throughput, huh? Fancy that.
This is the first that I've heard of the requirement to run the machines continuously. I guess that means 24 hours a day, 6 days a week. Do you think that is happening right now?
If the processors operate at 2,000lbs/hr for 6 days a week and 24 hours a day they would process 3,744 tons of plastic in a 13 week quarter.
If the processors operate at 4,000lbs/hr for 4 days a week and 24 hours a day they would process 4,992 tons of plastic in a 13 weeks quarter.
Both schedules would fall within the 5,850 ton limit of the CURRENT AIR WASTE PERMIT, but one would generate significantly more revenues than the other. In fact, production would be 33% higher in the schedule that requires 33% less operating hours.
I'm sure there are plenty of good reasons not to do that.

I'm tryin ta think but nuttin happens......Curly
