I am not even sure I believe in "consciousness" let alone freewill or good and evil. Is it a good thing that the President of the United States may go to war? Is it a good thing that the Germans don't want to go to war? Perhaps I have just thought myself into a corner but the way I see it function follows form. My hand is shaped the way it is because its function is dictated by the physical form of life on earth. Perhaps that is easier to understand if I put it in these terms. A fish is shaped the way it is because it exists in water. The function of its fins is a result of the water.
Which is something on the order of saying that life is the way it is because life is the way it is. There is nothing inherently good or evil in it. And it is kind of fun.

Which doesn't mean I don't believe in crime nor have my own sense of "morality."
