Well put - you are right and make an important point. Good works do not save - only faith in Jesus saves. A saved person will do good works out of obedience and love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus. As you point out, all true faith will produce good works, and a lack of good works indicates a lack of faith, but good works by themselves do not prove faith.
