kateric, a lot of companies fiscal years begin July 1 and January 1. But it is not unusual to have some that begin October 1 and April 1. It all depends on how they establish the date based on certain historical business patterns unique to their markets. Usually the date is selected when history dictates the business will be booming to end the fiscal year on an uptick.
