DD........

So, show, with actual examples how the democrats have expanded the public sector and increased the welfare state? You can't, because it is just a wing nut myth.

I'm going to try to do something different....

I don't know if this board can stand the shock....but, let's give it a try.....

let's try to find the truth of the matter......

I attempted to get some stats and charts for you....

and, here's what I found: getting accurate stats about welfare is very very difficult.....

IMO....for two reasons:

1) the federal government does not "control welfare"....control was moved to the states.....

and.....

2) "welfare" was cleverly broken apart into a bunch of smaller assistance programs.....

Clinton (remember, his wife was a starry eyed Saul Alinsky [the communist] groupie who wrote the 48 page college paper which sang his praises) signed TANF in 1995......

so, subsequently, the Dems could brag that the FEDERAL welfare roles diminished......

and, that is true.....

the other noteworthy program is AFDC.......

but, the larger point is that "welfare" was broken apart and placed into many subsidies.....housing, child care, medical, prescriptions, food allowance, diapers, baby food, child allowances.......etc etc....people can even get a free cell phone....

IMO....all done to cleverly make it very difficult to track...

here's some reading on the topic if you or anyone has the inclination to follow the game:
