I agree there may be some benefit for some...but evidently not everyone thinks so...as you mentioned Mickelson and Singh didn't continue with it. Likely a huge percentage of pros have at least tried them in practice but choose to stick with the traditional length.

My main point is that there is no "unfair" advantage as long as it is available to everyone. It doesn't need to be banned on that premise.

If you found a particular ball that performed well for you, would you have an unfair advantage over those that don't use it? Even if they just choose not to? Or a particular driver?

I think long putters are just another choice and just aren't that big a deal. The only ones complaning are the older players that don't want to see them. Their argument is that it helps players who no longer have what they deem "putting skill". That's not the case. These young guys are using them from an early age..

I just don't see a big deal about it all.
