If one uses a full-service broker, and has enough shares in the target company themselves, with enough value, they can short the stock they're holding. How do I know? I've done it. The stock I shorted was an OTC-BB stock. The approximate value on paper in my account for that stock at the time I shorted it was $170,000. I don't recall what percentage I was allowed by the broker to short, but in that instance I made a $50k short sale, and covered the short about a week later for a tidy sum.

The broker I used at the time was Edward Jones. Give them a call to verify.

This would appear to be a 'naked short' to an outside observer, however it was anything but. Perhaps there are some savvy holders within the JBI organization who also know how to accomplish this feat. They needn't be within the organization to accomplish this, but it is certainly quite possible. Think about hedging one's bet, and the leap to get there is merely a step.

That provides a clear path to NSS.
