Sometimes consensus is right....the old sell in May and go away certainly has worked the last couple of years....and go long in October and sell in Jan has worked pretty well also....those are consensus type patterns....and they still held true. IMO if Iraq is dealt with quickly....that uncertainty will be removed...and the market will like that imo. Consensus?....perhaps....but certainly possible.
