My job at SI definitely did become a lot more fun for me when I didn't have to spend all of my time in the admin role. I considered part of my job to just interact with people (which has always been my favorite thing) and get them interested in the site and the conversations.
I think Matt can wear both the PR and the Admin hats, and end up doing very well while wearing both, but feel it's important that one hat comes off when the other is put on. "The Enforcer", IMO, should be a no-nonsense hard-ass who dispassionately just makes sure everyone's playing by the rules. But is willing to listen attentively and be convinced that someone will play by the rules in the future.
I definitely do need to write him some admin tools. Actually, if I give him the kinds of tools I was used to, they may help him evolve in the job the way I did. I've moved that task up a bit on the to-do list, but there are still a couple of other things ahead of it. The site is still very much in need of a super-tweak walk-through, for example.
