Earth Hit By Epic Solar Storm

You might not know it, but you’re in the midst of the strongest solar storm since 2005. The solar flare began Sunday night and will likely continue through Wednesday. Radiation may cause satellite disruptions or communication problems for polar-traveling airplanes, but its effects on the ground will be negligible. In 1989 a solar storm caused a massive blackout in Quebec, and last October a freak storm caused auroras to be seen as far south as Alabama.
