sometimes your playfulness can easily be misread on the Internet as arrogance. (Frankly, same holds true for Bob!)

In spades in my case! I'm the first to admit I'm an arrogant SOB. Most programmers are. Although I think I probably would be even if I weren't a programmer.

It's funny I should read this right now. Coincidental.

Before Darth headed out to catch the bus, she was telling me something about the school and their attitude toward the students and she used the word "arrogant" when she really meant "ignorant". I told her that she probably meant "ignorant", and she asked me what "arrogant" means.

I told her "Everyone who disagrees with me is ignorant, and it's arrogant of me to feel that way." She gave me one of those weird looks and just headed out the door. I get those looks a lot. I'm sure she's probably at school right now, parsing that sentence instead of listening to her teacher, and will probably laugh out loud later. Hopefully she noticed I was grinning when I told her that.

Aside: I don't know if it's weird or not that when I'm talking about her on the site, I never address her or even think of her by her real name. When I'm here, she's "Darth". And I never think of her or call her "Darth" in real life. I probably don't even want to know what a psychologist's opinion would be about that.
