When I change the filter back this is what I see on my messages

When I put it the other way, I don't have that option.....but
now it's even more bizarre....
I just tried to copy and paste what I do have and when I go to highlight it......it's there!

When I look at it.....the spot that I just bolded is blank...
I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone or on Candid Camera!
