genentech showed some metrics 4-5 years ago (can't find a link) that showed that theeir consulting approach to biologics sellings had a much better efficacy.

they showed 100% reach of physicians vs. about 60% for Big Pharma and also 35-45 minutes per visit with docs vs. 4-5 minutes for Big Pharma small molecule sales reps.
