Man this is so 6 months ago for me. I have done face to face with my Broker and 3 way calls with Scottrade and the DTCC. I have had this spelled out and worked through. The T/A is easy to talk too. They are great informative people. Remember in the beginning, the DTCC said the lock was due to SFIO not haveing a transfer Agent? That was the first week of the lock. That was the first excuse.
A few of us were already on this at that time. I had the T/A tell me they infact were under contract with SFIO and were very much in providing that duty. I went back ad forth till my Broker, the DTCC and myself all sat around a table on a 3 way and I heard the DTCC agent say they were under strick orders NOT to give out any Information on SFIO. My Broker and I looked at each other and we just smiled. What can you do then? We sort of laughed and said thats that. I think my Broker gained some free knowledge that day. He said he never did that before nor heard that answer.
The certificates are not a big deal. Its a quick push of a key stroke and then up to the T/A to take my shares out of the free float, reduce that number and mail me my certified shares. They do charge a fee for this. Its real man hours and time. But The company does not allow the T/A do do this. I do not know why? Ts Roth Tammy won't reply to me.
Once and if I hold my paper and the DTCC lock is off. The shares hit $25, what can I do? Look at my paper and count all my "What if money". I can't trade like the rest of you. Its very much like buying an old home and find 100 original paper shares of Coke hidden in the fireplace. They are very much real today. Even if Coke were dead decades ago. It used to be common place. Maybe the company incures a cost to allow this? I'm at a loss.
If I take my shares out of the mix, whos it gonna hurt? I'll have to reverse the process to trade or sell my shares, maybe on ebay at what ever I can get for em. I can sell my paper to anyone I want then. Its like selling your car title.
This lock is out of character. What other stock lock is due to too much tradeing. AMR turned it free float, its still alive?
