We were fishing two rods on one downrigger. Top rod got hit, my friend is playing that salmon while I clear the other rods and downriggers. The fish got off just as I'd gotten the last rod's gear to the side of the boat...so I start getting gear ready to go back down.

One rod is just leaning on the gunnel with maybe 5 feet of line out, the flasher and anchovy dragging on the surface. I pick the rod up and wham a 16.5lb spring slams the anchovy right on top before my eyes. I'm eating a smoked piece of him now.
