The rest is on topic for some.....

Is life somewhat like a kaleidoscope?

The colored pieces within are representative of all the things that interact with us as we go through life. And, the twisting action is nothing more than how we direct our lives through this maze of separate and distinct "happenings".

What was that old Shakespeare quote about life is just a stage and people and things enter and leave at will. OK. I will look it up and cut and paste it here. Even though I have been told I should not be doin' this here "cuttin' and pastin' stuff" over here at Missy and Drummer's Theater Group... LOL

"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances;"

I guess I kinda agree with the old 'Bard of Avon'... But, what does this have to do with the kaleidoscope analogy? Life (and the world stage) is not entirely like a kaleidoscope in that the colorful pieces of glass and the characters of a play are finite; however, life has endless inputs which we can direct our paths through. Unfortunately, some people do not continue to get out to interact with the multitudinous assortment of inputs available for their pleasure. They find a groove (or rut) and continue in that groove for most of their lives... In fact, many, otherwise intelligent people, stopped looking for a new syncopated beat at a very young age; while almost everyone, has limited their mind's activity to nothin' more than reminiscin' as they approach the golden years.... Incidentally, all the books about the golden years are written by young people... LOL

My only reason for making this post is to give some advice:

1. Keep the antennae sticking out of your foreheads and picking up on the stuff being broadcast from the outside. Only by continually seeking out new pieces of colored glass to add to or replace in your kaleidoscope, can you enjoy the ever changing world....

2. Keep twisting on that instrument of joy. If the pieces become frozen because you are not mixing it up, then you have lost the race against boredom and stagnation. We dare not become stodgy and subsequently negative in our thinking, and our interaction with the rest of the world... Civic interaction must be a constant and uplifting activity that has the same effect as shaking a bag filled with little particles and large particles. The more you shake the bag, the more the big ones come to the top. Remember, the cream always rises.....

3. Enjoy the company of youth as much as you can. And remember (if you have figured this out) or be informed here, if you haven't: Youth has nothing to do with chronological age. Youth is a state of mind that is most frequently found in the young; but, can be a part of your life until senility or Alzheimer's Disease or death sets in. If you do not make this effort to keep company with the "young", you will certainly be a miserable old/young person... Enuf said, but the Bard beckons me to cut and paste a "few" and anew....

"Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more; it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." {THIS WAS PROBABLY WRITTEN WHEN SHAKESPEARE WAS DOWN

"Life every man holds dear; but the dear man holds honor far more precious dear than life." THIS WAS PROBABLY WRITTEN WHEN HE WAS UP, [/B]

Choose the pieces of glass you put into your kaleidoscope with great care.. Mixing it up with poor quality bits of matter is a terrible waste of life. And remember the honor....

Love and Kisses. Off to Alexandria, and then picking up some RR stuff to be brought back to my state of mind: TEXAS...
