The FDA's warnings on Plavix "were premature and they weren't based on solid science," said Steven Nissen, chairman of cardiovascular medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation who wrote an editorial to accompany the paper. "We cannot jump on the personalized medicine bandwagon without doing the good, hard science. I think that happened here."
