Finding Intraday Volatility - Aids To Use?

Hello All,

I am wondering what methods you use to help find stocks with decent intraday volatility on the big boards.

Personally, I have noticed that F (Ford) often has a .20 to .25 increase over the opening PPS sometime during the trading day. If one could identify other such stocks, would it not be logical to play intraday volatility and take steady, smaller gains than to risk higher amounts on long position in the current market?

I lost my job of 21 years a few weeks ago, and I am now trying to learn more in hopes of trading some short-term volatility in hopes of making enough money to help pay for medical insurance and the like.
