That news about Rambus starting hitting the street last week and some have known since some time in december. I follow it pretty close. Rambus has been through a lot of strange news reports (many very biased). The legal situation will take years to be resolved, and by then it will be almost old news as Rambus is already working on and licensing newer stuff.
