I care about software working. I don't investigate the company to see how big they are nor do I care how their stock is doing. I evaluate the software on it's own merits and decide if it will benefit my business. Both Microsoft and Quicken make products that are designed for my business but I still decided on software from a small company with 3 employees. That was 10 years ago and I still use their software and buy my updates and have had no problems. To be frank, saying that a company can't compete with behemoths like Microsoft in a niche market is shortsighted and stupid.
