Well, I am going to have to look further into this. First of all, I am quite certain that PPJE is not the only company out there with patented medical billing software. I seem to recall that PPJE was formed in the year 2000. Medical billing software has been around since shortly after the advent of the PC in the mid 80s.

In addition, the issuance of a patent does not mean the item (in this case the software) is the best possible product. It simply means that it has some proprietary element, perhaps a tiny element, that sets it apart from other similar software. Patents certainly don't mean no one else has patented medical billing software.

My point is there is more to the story than the simple fact that PPJE owns patented software.
