Iran slams U.S. accusations over Hezbollah

Iran Foreign Ministry Wednesday rejected U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld's accusations that it is sending arms to Lebanon's Hezbollah through Syria.

Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asafi was quoted by the Iranian News Agency, IRNA, as saying that U.S. accusations are mere lies.

He said, Washington's continuing naïve and illogical practices in combating terrorism and its stupid arrogance made the world an unsafe and insecure place.

Asafi said the center of terrorism is located in Israel.

Rumsfeld told reporters Tuesday that Iran supports terrorism and sends arms and weapons to Hezbollah and other organizations in Lebanon through Damascus so they can be used against Israel.
