"Too many chefs spoil the broth." This change is likely to backfire rather disastrously, in my view. It's easy to predict that endless battles between mods (of equal powers) will erupt on not a few boards and create unwelcome chaos that spills bad blood. iBoxes are just one field of battle that portends to become messy indeed.

Further, the change will likely create significantly more work for already overworked Admin as more posts are deleted by opposing camps and thereupon appealed to iHub. As another unintended consequence, will board mods play the internal delete-restore-delete-restore ad nauseam game?

The old hierarchical system with hire/fire option wasn't perfect, but it did establish a framework of order where checks and balances could obtain and a certain discipline was enforced. Unplugged, it becomes a tiring free-for-all between mods of opposing mindsets with equal powers. In sum, ab ordo chaos as the baby goes out with the bathwater.
