a real concept of the time scale of billions of years is not something that the writers of the dead sea scrolls had in their frontal lobes.

they thought a magic dude could conjure up the earth and all of its subroutines and even the potential for a few miss-steps such as the tea party in a matter of a week. Well, not even a week... he decided to take a day off on his first week of work (his resume' doesn't include any former jobs, if any-- but could have been a typo or omission in the Scrolls).

then suddenly there was whole bunch of begettin', and before ya' know it, those "days" get interpreted as thousands of years... and even that is not enough of a timeline to allow for scientific reality.

the interpretations will have to catch up eventually, or else the credibility gap would become wider than when the explanations of stars were that they (if imagined properly) were in the shapes of the Zodiac. Plus some other shapes such as bears and boobs and stuff.

So anyway, the lifespan of particular types of stars is pretty much known, and certainly relative to each other to within a few percent. so if your post was to educate us about the life cycle of stars, i thank you. If it was meant to be irony or something, i would like to award you a quart jar full of the sun.
