Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that the US is guilty as charged. So what?

If we had taken out Saddam in '91 we probably would have saved the lives of at least 500,000 Iraqis who he has killed over the past 12 years.

If we take him out in '03 we will most likely kill several thousand Iraqi civilians in the process, but at the same time prevent the murder of another 500,000 Iraqis over the next 12 years.

Having the power that we do means that we are faced with an endless series of decision points about its use.

You seem to think that by choosing inaction we escape moral culpability. I think otherwise. Choosing inaction means accomplishes nothing other than keeping us from having to see the results of our choice on television. It's the moral coward's way out, IMDO.
