Same thing with Australia.

Ignoring Iraq, fearing for prosperity Australia’s Howard was re-elected

Iraq was not the issue in this campaign.

But Australia’s election campaign largely ignored Iraq and national security to focus on bread-and-butter domestic issues like education, health care and interest rates -- a key worry for millions of homeowners.

But Monash University senior politics lecturer Nick Economou said there was no evidence that Iraq influenced the election's outcome, and voters appeared far more concerned about domestic rather than foreign policies.
"There is no Iraq factor in this at all," Economou said.

People in the United States are only now turning against the war as their wallets are getting hammered by the high cost of oil and gas and everything related to these commodities. This is no moral enlightenment.

What I would like to learn more about is the UK's Security Service Plan 2005-2008 which plans for the continuation of the government in case of a terrorist attack or any catastrophe for that matter. Can’t find much on the ‘Plan’ yet.

This could be a British Patriot Act - don't know yet.
