Should point out, too, that "along the fault boundaries" doesn't mean "within the confines of the fault structure apparent at the surface"...

What you're looking for are spots where a lot of gold got melted and pooled in solution under pressure at depth, and then, for whatever reason, a "leak" occured that allowed a lot of high gold content fluid to escape and be deposited elsewhere...

Makes sense that leaks occur along boundaries where there are cracks that lead to the surface... but, that doesn't mean there aren't "leaks" that might occur that aren't right IN the cracks, rather than "near" them... and, reality is still that you don't really care just to find "a leak"... you need "a leak with a lot of gold in it"... so, the old saw that it is where you find it is still true.
