Having run startups myself, I can honestly say (and the IRS will vouch for me) I put accounting and PR in a tier 2 priority layer with capitol management, cashflow and growth as my number one priority. I focus on core competencies and judging potential partners. Once I bring a company out of stealth mode, I start investing the spoils of the company on accounting resources to clean up the mess I created when trying to get the company off of the ground.
I liken it to working with clay. At first it is very messy and the finished product is hard to see. Then, with constant effort and attention the vase begins to take shape. Once the structure of the vase is present, it is time to let it harden. Finally, paint and baking is done. Well, SNEY is coming out of the hardening phase and they are putting the paint and make up on so that we can recognize it's beauty. When Ghana results are in, that will be like putting flowers in.
