I agree....we can't force a group of people with a cultural imperative that is substantially different than ours, to act like us. The most likely outcome, no matter how long we remain in Iraq , is civil war. There is a power vacuum in Iraq, and when we exit, the various factions, inside and outside of Iraq will fight to fill that vacuum.
