I was going back over some of the recent quarterly calls and company presentations particularly ones done by Frost. I got the impression (reading a bit between the lines) they may be trying to attract a generic company to be their partner in the insulin program. Whether they can or not remains to be seen of course and it actually makes a lot of sense strategically. Now I wouldn't necessarily call this great news as it may speak to the lack of interest from one of the big 3 insulin players in partnering with them.
On another note unless they get ~30 million+ in partnership monies (from all sources not necessarily insulin deal) I think the company will do a financing in Q1 '12 which would also speak to the lack of insulin interest. Would be great if they could "surprise" with another Viropharma like deal or two.
Lets see what Frost has to say Monday unless his "dentist appointment" leaves him speechless
