I disagree with that assessment, but it might be a reasonable explanation if not for the Irish. Their economy is booming. The quality of life is excellent, and it is becoming a country of non-Irish people because so many people are immigrating there. Both the Irish and Italians immigrated here in mass numbers, and traditionally held a favorable view of the US. This is no longer the case. Because we need allies, especially in the WoT, we need to question why. I admit anti-Americanism is nothing new. Some of it might be rooted in envy but during Bush's tenure our approval ratings have fallen off a cliff all over the globe. When polled the #1 reason given for an unfavorable opinion is arrogance. The regime is arrogant.
