SMKY results time from day one!
I spoke with the frozen seafood buyer at the corporate office for Publix Supermarkets today (super nice guy). He was on the SMKY website today and has the companies spec sheet. If it were not labeled and retail ready it will be a year before they bring a new line in. If labeled/retail ready then it could be as fast as 2 months. No promises whatsover but he is looking into the product. Publix is the largest emplyee owned supermarket chain in the U.S. They have 750 stores here in Florida, 48 in Alabama, 183 in GA, 45 in S.C. & 31 in Tennessee.
Also approached Fresh Market - they only have 26 stores here in Florida but they have a presence in other states as well - 70 in VA, 3 Maryland, 5 SC, 4 Indiana, 1 NJ, 11 GA and more in AK, CN, IL, AL, KY, LA, MS, NY, OH & PA. I was focusing on Florida stores.
Went to quite a few local markets here (the nicer ones) and requested they bring it in including one little market that I love which is 4th Generation in Boca. They have such a great customer base and everybody that appreciates good quality food will love this salmon because of the no additives/preservatives, the way it is prepared and the taste of the finished product.
Today was fun and I hope good things come out of it. Let's see who the first lucky store is to get in SMKY.
