JAK3 inhibitor in a transplant rejection setting



I'm prepared to believe that with sufficient inhibition of JAK3 you can block rejection. The question is going to be what else happens when you immunosuppress to that degree - are you going to be completely vulnerable to CMV infection and the like? It's always going to be a tricky balancing act, and doctors by now have a lot of experience with that balancing using calcineurin inhibitors, so it's going to be hard going up against standard of care in the transplant area using any new drug even if it has the potential to be better at the end of the day.

So my first instinct is caution, but this isn't something I've ever researched.
