"so this is your reasoning, and i'm not twisting your words"
As is normal for you, yes you are.
"you're saying that if everyone in the US was gung-ho for the war, if all the people who are currently anti-war would join in the cheering of the pro-war crowd, we'd be kicking more butt in Iraq...
That is not at all what I said and you know it -- either that or your level of understanding is so poor that conversing with you is a total waste of time. Rather that me wasting my time writing it again I suggest you go back and read what I wrote, not what you wished I wrote.
"...so did Bush & Co not perceive that their would be a certain percentage of people that wouldn't agree with his war?... just more bad planning?
Yes, I think he misjudged how much the country has changed since WWII and the years immediately following when partisan politics ended at the nations borders, especially in times of war. I think he believed that VietNam was a aberration, but it is obvious that it was not and the liberal wing of the democratic party will stop at nothing to embarrass a republican president even if it means doing harm to the United States and our troops abroad in harm's way. I remember writing a post either here or on the other Zeev's board shortly after 9/11 that within 90 days or so the dems would begin cautiously testing the waters with partisan sniping and as soon as there was no backlash they would be back in full force -- I was too generous.
