When Steve Jobs returned to Apple in late 90s, he embarked on a campaign to differentiate Apple from its competitors, and eventually he was extremely successful. Unfortunately "different" does not guarantee success. AMD has also taken a path different from Intel with the Llano and Bulldozer. Apparently HP is also trying to do something different:
