I think the real reason Sprott bought was contained in the 30 minute radio interview someone linked here recently...

All of what you say about the company is true... but, the two major factors appear they are:

First, confidence in the long term trend in silver prices, with demand still growing, over time, particularly investment demand, now, even with existing demand not able to be met by current production. Demand is growing, and even before there is any real wider recognition by the market that "money" is going to have to change, in order to isolate the value inherent in our exchange media from control by governments and banks.

Remonitization of metals is going to occur... gold, silver, perhaps even copper. That's not going to occur next week. It may not occur next year, or the year after... but, be patient. I don't expect it will occur until after some other events have... including some that aren't going to be much fun. There is still a difference between what the market values as real, and what governments falsely deign to recognize. You don't need the final recognition events to create the value, or your own market awareness of it. The herd will still do what they are told... when they are told... or after events require they stampede. Power... does not define value... without legitimacy. The choices are: ride the wave that's coming... or be swamped by it?

The "end game" in precious metals prices are going to be defined by recognition events in remonitization. Gold will probably not reach $10K, $15K or more, per ounce, without that. So, we're probably still a long way from seeing "the peak" that some expect to see ? That peak won't occur until after the banks have stupidly succeeded in destroying themselves... and that won't occur until they are again pried, by force, from control over the political process.

Hence, the effort in misdirection: http://finance.yahoo.com/blogs/breakout/wayne-rogers-occupy-wall-street-misguided-save-america-122420603.html%20;_ylt=Ahxg.dImWmi87sZYy2bJAWS7YWsA;_ylu=X3oDMTE5OWsxMmsxBHBvcwMzBHNlYwNGUEJyZWFrb3V0QmxvZwRzbGsDd2F5bmVyb2dlcnNv?sec=topStories&pos=6&asset=&ccode=

Remonitization is a game changer. When that occurs, we're not talking change occurring in %'s, but change in multiple 100's of %'s in a short period of time.

Sprott's second major driver is the long term trend the company itself has established, showing them increasing both their physical capacity for production, over time, and increasing the metal content per unit of ore mined, over time. Sprott calls profitable junior miners "growth stocks"... and focused less on their incremental growth, than on growth in step changes that occur when they succeed in bringing new mines into operation.

That's probably something to keep an eye on here, in relation to the timeline in development of the business.

The company's recent release of drill core data from renewed effort in exploration, was one of the BIG things I've been waiting to see here. CDE let go of this property when they tapped out a higher value vein... without bothering to go looking for more of that stuff. I thought there likely was more... and now, it looks like USSIF is finding some of it...

Parker says the assays are coming in higher than expected ? I don't recall seeing any others recently who were posting assays of 71 pounds of silver per ton... but, its probably worth trying to figure out where stuff like that came from ?
